There are a number of effective ice-melters on the market today. Regardless
of which product you choose, the most critical element of De-Icing strategy is
timing and planning. Be prepared: do not wait until the snow starts to fall
to define your strategy and purchase your ice-melt products. Additionally,
remember to spread your ice-melt products early in the storm so they have a
chance to build a brine between the concrete or pavement and the snow and ice.

Rock Salt
Rock salt is the most economical product to melt ice and loosen packed snow. It is made up of a mixture of large and small crystals of naturally occurring sodium chloride. Available in 50lb and 80lb bags.
Peladow
Pure Calcium Chloride, White Pellet, Fast Acting, Great Coverage. Calcium chloride melts snow and ice very quickly, over 3 times faster than rock salt. It lasts longer as well and can work down to -25 Fahrenheit. Available in 50lb bags.
